Below is a great recipe for easy, quick and meatless tantalizingly barbeque sandwiches:

 

  • 1 Bag of meatless crumbles
  • 1 Can of sloppy joe sauce
  • 1 onion diced
  • 4 toasted onion hamburger buns

 

Saute onion in saute pan - add meatless crumbles and can of sloppy joe sauce - cook until hot - spoon on toaster buns - makes 4 servings

 

Here's a great way to eat for a healthy body and mind

 

Eat the right fats and carbohydrates for a healthy diet.
 
Eat the right proportions of food groups and calories, and include olive oil as your main source of healthy fat.
 
Your basic everyday eating pattern should consist of the following foods:
 
60% of your food intake should include Carbohydrates From Grains, Fruits And Vegetables - which includes whole rice, fresh vegetables and fruits, whole grain breads and cereals, polenta, pasta . . . make sure they are made with whole grains, not refined white flour.
 
Eat Red Meat, Fish And Poultry sparingly

1 lb of red meat per week

1lb of poultry per week

1lb of fish per week

A good substitute for meat products are soy products, such as soy burgers, crumbles, soy sandwich meat. Soy products are right in your freeze section of the grocery store.
 
Add Olive Oil to your diet which is mono-unsaturated - a good fat. Mono-unsaturated fats help lower cholesterol, and there are healthy ways to add fats to your diet. Remember, your body needs some body-fat, or it can't use many of the vitamins you feed it!
 
Exercise and Activity. Everyday include walking or your favorite exercise (such as highly recommended swimming) which is vital in helping the body stay healthy and maintain a good weight.
 
The secret to a healthy diet is to base your food and meals on healthy carbohydrates - leafy green vegetables, brightly colored vegetables, whole grains and meals. Use meat sparingly - no more than 3 to 6 ounces per day. Derive dietary fat from vegetable sources - or from fish oil. Exercise regularly to ramp-up your bodies metabolism. The above isn't a weight-loss plan. It's a good way of eating for health to help you reach your ideal weight and stay there when you finally get there.
